- Branden Albert has a dislocated elbow and was wearing a brace today. But will the rookie offensive tackle play Sunday against Carolina?
Herm Edwards said today that Albert’s availablility was in question.
DJ played like a mad man this week and it is being recognized.
Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson is up for the GMC Defensive Player of the week. He had 6 tackles, a pass defended, an INT, and a forced fumble. To vote for him and watch a video click here.
I’m just passing this along trying to get DJ as many votes as possible. If you think he deserves it please do the same.
Go DJ!! It’s ya Birthday!
Remember Denver… you can’t beat our Johnsons!

So Red Zone is reporting that our Phat Albert has a dislocated elbow:
Herm Edwards said today that Albert’s availablility was in question.
Also in the comments section someone said that this is the same injury that Ryan Sims had his rookie year that put him on IR. Is this true? Does anyone have any more information on this?
Well, although Herbie Taylor seems to be doing a very nice job filling in, I hope Albert has a speedy recovery.

So a guy I work with made a bet with another coworker about the Chiefs vs Broncos game. The terms were this: If the Broncos won she had to wear his Shannon Sharpe jersey and if the Chiefs won, he had to wear a Chiefs hat. We all agreed that letting him wear just a hat was letting him off easy, so she brought in a sweater.
This bet was made over the summer and honestly I’m surprised she stuck with it after the way the Chiefs (and Broncos) started the season. She had a lot of “marbles” to stick with it on this bet.
Oh, I wanted to say one more thing, “HA HA!”
GO CHIEFS!!

This game was AWESOME. I have to tell you being at Arrowhead for this game was just amazing and I hope to see many more like this.
WHAT I LIKED
Derrick Johnson: DJ finally had that breakout game we were all waiting for this season. Johnson had an interception, forced fumble, and made 6 tackles in the game. He was all over the field making plays. Go DJ! It’s ya Birthday!
Larry Johnson: LJ had a big game this week, and that makes two weeks in a row he got-r-done. 198 yards with a 7.1 yards per attempt average… enough said. Good Job LJ! Keep it up!
Offensive Line: Overall the Chiefs had 213 rushing yards, averaged 6.5 rushing yards per attempt and only allowed one sack. Great job guys. Also, Herb Taylor filled in and did a very nice job.
Chiefs Defense: Forcing turnovers and making big plays, even the TD catch was well defended, you just can’t do much about it when a guy makes that catch. Flowers and Carr both had very nice games and it was also refreshing to see the Chiefs actually get some pressure on the QB, rushing Cutler into some bad throws.
As always there were a couple things that I didn’t like so much.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE
Gave up too many passing yards: The Chiefs gave up 361 passing yards. As you can see I am kind of stretching a little in looking for things I didn’t like. Some of these yards were from toward the end of the game when the Broncos were trying to score fast, but either way that is a lot of yards to give up.
NIck Novack: While his kickoffs were pretty good this game (a heck of a lot better than before) he still missed a field goal. Just because it didn’t matter in the end for this game, doesn’t mean that it won’t the next time. On must Sunday’s this year the Chiefs will need every point they can get.
Branden Albert Injury: This really just sucks. For a guy that was never injured before it sure sucks that four games into his pro career he has already had two injuries. I’m just glad it wasn’t his ankle again.
I tried to limit my positives a bit in this post because I don’t want to get too excited yet, but that was a great win for the Chiefs, hopefully one that will build the confidence of this young team and have them coming out ready to play hard again next week.
GO CHIEFS!

Happy Monday to all!! Man, I have not been this excited on a Monday since… uh… I honestly don’t know.
The Chiefs had a great game this weekend, beating the Broncos 33-19 (Arena League Style). The Chiefs rushing offense was great, totaling up over 200 yards and averaging 6.5 per attempt is no joke, even if the Broncos have one of the worst D’s in league. Anyways, I thought their rushing defense was suppose to be okay and the pass defense was what was killing them. Oh well. But yeah, you can check out my initial reaction to the game here:Chiefs beat up Broncos - and I am PUMPED!!
If you missed this game and you are a Chiefs fan… WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? (LOL) Naw, I know what you were thinking. Something like “Undefeated Broncos versus win-less Chiefs, what do you think is going to happen?” Well, I would just like to point out that you missed a great game and one that was SO FUN to attend with my fellow Chiefs fans.
Just like every game there were positives and negatives in this game for the Chiefs and this week the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. You can see what I said about that here:Game 4 Chiefs vs. Broncos- What I think…
LJ, welcome back! Almost 200 yards rushing and two TD’s is great, and it also worked out VERY WELL for my fantasy team (which also contains Brett Favre, so yeah it was a big week for me with over 100 points). Don’t look now, but LJ is third in the NFL in rushing yards.
Now some news about this site:
As for as the podcast last week we released a new episode of Brick Hits. In Brick Hits: Episode 8 - Podcast Brick and I talked about our likes/dislikes from the Chiefs/Falcons game, previewed the Chiefs vs Broncos, and we unveiled our “Tool of the Week” If you have listened please leave us a comment about what you thought. We are trying to bring you something you can enjoy and would love any suggestions that you might have for us to make the show better.
As usual a new Brick Hits will be released on Tuesday or Wednesday this week and I encourage all of you to give it a listen and let us know what you think. This week’s broadcast should be a lot of fun since we get to talk about a win for the first time this year, which should work out better for all of us. We’ll have more fun talking about it and should love getting to hear some good news about the Chiefs! Also, as usual we will preview the Carolina game and name a Tool of the Week.
Well, that is all for this Monday morning. I hope you all have a great week and we can see another Chiefs victory. Oh, and don’t forget to talk crap on a Donkey fan at some point today. Isn’t it great that is was us who knocked them off their high horse? Ahhhh….
Go Chiefs!

It has been SO LONG since I have felt this way I almost forgot what it felt like.
Now THAT is Chiefs football; forcing turnovers, LJ running for big yardage, D. Bowe and Tony G. getting TD’s and beating the Donkeys at home! That is what it is all about!! And it was so good to actually get to talk trash on the Donko fans and then have the Chiefs back it up on the field.
Also, if you weren’t at the game I just want you all to know that Arrowhead was rocking today. It reminded me of the way to used to be and when I say that I’m refering to stuff like it being so loud that I couldn’t hear what my friend, who was yelling in my ear, was saying because it was so loud. Now, it wasn’t that loud today, and I would say that is mainly because the stadium wasn’t full, but the atmosphere was back, and you could tell the players were feeding off of the energy!
I will of course post up tomorow my likes and dislikes of the game tomorrow morning like always, and this weeks the ‘likes’ will be MUCH better than prevous weeks!! That’s al for now… GO CHIEFS!!!!
(The picture above is one I took today at the game… I will be posting up some more sometime in the next few days for your viewing pleasure)

So here is game 4:
The Chiefs are 0-3 and the Broncos are 3-0, do I need to say much more? The Broncos are obviously one of the best offenses in the NFL, but also have one of the worst defenses in the league. If the Chiefs can’t score quite a few points in this game then they are definitely in trouble.
One of the keys for the Chiefs will be not letting the Broncos get out to an early lead, which could be very hard. I don’t have the stats in front of me, but I read something like this: The Broncos have score 20 some points in the first quarter so far this season and 40 some points in the second quarter this season. That is impressive. On the flip side let’s just say I believe the Chiefs have been in the single digits in the first half this season.
So if the Chiefs can hold the Donks and not allow them to get out to a big lead then they might have a chance, but if Denver gets a big lead this game could be over pretty quick.
As always please post any comments, pictures, or whatever in the comment section below before, during or after the game. If you see something that you hated (or loved) let the rest of us know!
I’ll be be tailgating it up this week and yelling for all of us from my seat in Arrowhead.
GO CHIEFS!!

Well, the Chiefs are 0-3 and need a win really bad. Luckily they play a team that gives them a chance to win this week. Wait… who are playing this week? The Broncos? crap…
(So you’re telling me there’s a chance!! - Dumb and Dumber)
Chiefs Offense Line vs Denver Defensive Line: Neither line has been impressive thus far and it should be interesting to see which group wants it more. The battle will be won in the trenches.
Dwayne Bowe vs Champ Bailey: Dwayne Bowe has bounced back pretty nicely from his lackluster first game and will now be facing one of the premiere corners in the NFL. Good Luck Bowe, you may need it.
Denver WR vs Chiefs Secondary: Denver has some very talented receivers. Brandon Marshall (who needs to beat corners and not ladies) had 18 catches in one game and Eddie Royal seem to be a very talented rookie who is fitting in very nicely for Denver. Surtain (if he plays), Flowers, Carr, and the rest of the Chiefs DB’s will have their hands full.
Herm Edwards vs Chan Gailey: I have been wondering all year if Chan is really calling the plays or if Herm has been taking over (because of the similiarity of the play calling from last year at times), so it will be interesting to see if Herm lets Gailey call his own plays. Also, with veteran Damon Huard starting this week it makes me wonder if they might “open up the offense” a little more for him.
Herm Edwards vs Mike Shanahan: Who is darker? : Herm of course has the natural advantage, but with Shanahan’s fake baking, you never know who will win this battle. We’ll have to wait to see who comes out ahead on this one.
Carl Peterson vs the Fans: How many paper bags will be at the game and how many times will Carl get flipped the bird at the game by the fans. Also in this battle of the fans versus Carl Peterson you have to wonder how many fans will be there by the end of the game supporing Carl and his Chiefs.

Just thought I would share (in case you couldn’t guess… lol) that there are still tickets available to the Chiefs game this Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium versus the Denver Broncos. From kcchiefs.com
So… are these really just the tickets the Broncos returned? Maybe some of them are, but I bet most are just tickets that the Chiefs couldn’t sell. By the way, if you are really looking for tickets I would check eBay first because I am sure you could find some for less than face value. In fact I’ll just list some here for you:

I don’t know about you, but I have thought about this before and once the Chiefs started rebuilding I got even more worried that something like that could happen. Here is what Tony Gonzalez had to say about the possibility of being traded:[from Adam Schefter's Blog on nfl.com]
“Yeah. I definitely could, but I love being a Chief,” Gonzalez said Wednesday. “But if it was something where it was going to take three or four years or whatever before they get this thing right, I think it would be in their best interest to maybe see what they can get and send me off.
“But I love being a Chief and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else at this point. At the end of this season, hopefully I don’t have to ask that. Hopefully we get this thing turned around. I’ve got a family now. I came here when I just turned 21, so this is home. That’s where I’m at right now with that.”
I would really HATE to see Tony G go to another team, but do we owe this to him? The man is one of my all-time favorite Chiefs so I don’t know what to say about this… what do you guys think?
