Brodie Croyle says he will start against Tennessee
According to the Red Zone Brodie Croyle will be starting the next game for the Kansas City Chiefs.
- Croyle began throwing in individual drills in practice last week and has been cleared for contact.
“If I’m healthy, I’m going to go,” Croyle said today. “I just have to make sure that over the next two weeks that everything keep going the way it’s supposed to be and we don’t have any setbacks. If that’s so, then we’ll be ready to go against Tennessee.”
I am not sure if this is a good or bad thing. The Titans have one of the better defenses (and defensive lines) in the NFL. Albert Haynesworth could have a field day here.
Looking from the other side, I guess if you really want to test Brodie to see if he’ll get hurt again this year this is a great test. If he can survive the Titans maybe that means he is getting tougher? I dunno… I’m just trying to look at it from all angles here.
What do you guys think? Can Croyle make it through the whole game without getting hurt?

Game DayThread - Game 5: Kansas City Chiefs vs Carolina Panthers
So here is game 5:
The Chiefs are 1-3 after they manhandled the Broncos last week and this week travel to the 3-1 Carolina Panthers. This is a big game for both teams, but especially for the Chiefs as there is a big difference between 1-4 and 2-3 heading into the bye week.
One of the keys for the Chiefs will be to make sure their running game gets on track early. This is what happened last week and because of that the Chiefs were able to control the tempo of the game and not get into a shootout with Denver.
Carolina will be looking to do a lot of the same things as the Chiefs this game. They want to control the clock with the running game and play good defense. You got to watch out though because I have seen them do this and BAM, hit you with a play-action pass to Steve Smith for a long TD.
So, if the Chiefs can get that running game going (like they have for the last game and a half) and the defense comes to play and creates some turnovers I think we have a shot here. The Chiefs MUST win the turnover battle if they want to stand a chance.
As always please post any comments, pictures, or whatever in the comment section below before, during or after the game. If you see something that you hated (or loved) let the rest of us know!
I’ll be yelling from the couch this week and hoping very much for a Chiefs victory.
GO CHIEFS!!

Game DayThread - Game 4: Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Donkeys, er Broncos
So here is game 4:
The Chiefs are 0-3 and the Broncos are 3-0, do I need to say much more? The Broncos are obviously one of the best offenses in the NFL, but also have one of the worst defenses in the league. If the Chiefs can’t score quite a few points in this game then they are definitely in trouble.
One of the keys for the Chiefs will be not letting the Broncos get out to an early lead, which could be very hard. I don’t have the stats in front of me, but I read something like this: The Broncos have score 20 some points in the first quarter so far this season and 40 some points in the second quarter this season. That is impressive. On the flip side let’s just say I believe the Chiefs have been in the single digits in the first half this season.
So if the Chiefs can hold the Donks and not allow them to get out to a big lead then they might have a chance, but if Denver gets a big lead this game could be over pretty quick.
As always please post any comments, pictures, or whatever in the comment section below before, during or after the game. If you see something that you hated (or loved) let the rest of us know!
I’ll be be tailgating it up this week and yelling for all of us from my seat in Arrowhead.
GO CHIEFS!!

Game DayThread - Game 3: Kansas City Chiefs vs Atlanta Falcons
Here it is, Game 3.
The Chiefs are 0-2 and are taking on the 1-1 Atlanta Falcons. After last week I am actually pretty nervous about this game. Michael Turner rush for 220 yards in the first game of the season and last game the Chiefs gave up 300 yards rushing to the Raiders. That is not a good combination. Now, I don’t think that will happen again this week, you never know, but if I was on the Chiefs defense I would have something to prove today and one of things would be that I am not going to give up 300 yards again.
A little info on Atlanta: The Falcons win came against Detroit who is now 0-2 and their loss came against Tampa Bay, who is now 1-1. On offense Atlanta is ranked 16th in PPG (21.5), 9th in total yards/game (354), 26th in passing yards/game (142.5), and 3rd in rushing yards/game (211.5). On defense the birds are ranked 21st in PPG (22.5), 17th in total yards/game (309.5), 18th in passing yards/game (196.5), and 20th in rushing yards/game (113).
The QB talk this week is that the Chiefs are going to ‘get Thiggy with it’ and start second year QB Tyler Thigpen and stick with him for the whole game. Would I be surprised if I saw Damon Huard in relief or Marques Hagans come in to run a ’slash’ type play? No… neither would surprise me at this point.
It should be interesting to see if Thigpen can make good decisions today. I hope that he does, but I’m not sure that he will. Hopefully all that time with the first team offense in practice this week pays dividends.
In my mind if the Chiefs can stop the run today they should win the game. Although the same could probably be said for the Falcons.

I’ll be yelling at the TV just like the rest of you today.

Game DayThread - Game 2: Kansas City Chiefs vs Oakland Raiders
It is finally here! The home opener! And I am THERE MAN!!
As you can see I am pretty excited to go to Chiefs games that actually matter again. I’m also very excited to see what the Chiefs can do against the hated Raiders.
As you know, the Raiders got dominated buy the Donkeys last week and if that same team that showed up last Monday night shows up at Arrowhead today we are in for an awesome game! Lol… at least for us Chiefs fans.
With all this talk of a possible two QB system it will be interesting to see if we do end up using Thigpen at all. My guess for this game is no, but you never know what will happen.
As always please post any comments, pictures, or whatever in the comment section below before, during or after the game. If you see something that you hated (or loved) let the rest of us know!
I’ll be cheering from the stands for all of us!

Game DayThread - Preseason Game 4: Chiefs vs Rams
As I said last week I have now started Game Day Threads here at kcchiefsfootball.com.
Today the Chiefs play the annual Governor’s Cup battle against the St. Louis Rams. This should be an awesome display of… wait… you say Trent Green is starting? Steven Jackson won’t play? Will LJ play? D Bo? …Well, it is Chiefs football so I am still excited about it.
It should be interesting getting to see what players will play their way onto the roster and which ones might play their way to going job hunting.
As always please post any comments pictures or whatever in the comment section below.
p.s. Don’t forget the game was pushed up to 6:00 to accomidate the TV coverage of the Demo-Crapic National Convention in Denver… ok, it might not be that bad, but I have never been.

Game DayThread - Preseason Game 3: Chiefs vs Dolphins
I have decided to start doing game time threads here at kcchiefsfootball.com. This is mainly for you, the readers of this blog, to have a place to say whatever you want before, during and after the game. As you all know I am a season ticket holder, so unless the Chiefs allow me bring in my laptop into the stadium (which would be dangerous anyway) I will not be updating this thread during home games. During some of the away games in which I should have internet access I might throw little bits out there, but I would really like this to be a forum for you guys to express your opinions about the game more than anything.
If you would like to help by doing blog updates during the away games start out by posting your comments and we can work from there. Let me know what you guys think and GO CHIEFS!
As for the game, tonight’s game should be a good benchmark to see where the Chiefs are at. The starters should at least play through the first half and possibly into the 3rd quarter. We should see a lot of Brodie Croyle and after the game should have a little better idea about how this season might be.
Feel free to post you feelings below as the game is taking place (before and during is ok too).
