A Sad Day for the Chiefs
You know it is a sad day for the Kansas City Chiefs origination when they don’t even get the respect of man’s best friend: (And no, this is not my dog, he hasn’t turned on the team… yet)

Chiefs Super Hero
We all know that the Chiefs could use a super hero on their side and now I’m asking for your help.
Give your suggestions on what current (or former) Chief player should have a special ability and what that ability should be.
Right now I’m going to say I would like to see Brodie Croyle as Iron Man. That way he wouldn’t get hurt and we could all see if he really is the QB that the Chiefs believe he can be.
BTW this one reminds me a little bit of Damion McSack-N-Tosh:

Game Bets: A Broncos fan who lost a bet
So a guy I work with made a bet with another coworker about the Chiefs vs Broncos game. The terms were this: If the Broncos won she had to wear his Shannon Sharpe jersey and if the Chiefs won, he had to wear a Chiefs hat. We all agreed that letting him wear just a hat was letting him off easy, so she brought in a sweater.
This bet was made over the summer and honestly I’m surprised she stuck with it after the way the Chiefs (and Broncos) started the season. She had a lot of “marbles” to stick with it on this bet.
Oh, I wanted to say one more thing, “HA HA!”
GO CHIEFS!!

Phone conversation between Chiefs and Browns
Carl Peterson picks up phone to call Cleveland Brown Headquarters:
ring… ring… ring…
Browns: “Hello?”
Carl: “Hello, this is Carl Peterson VP/CEO/President/Lord of the Kansas City Chiefs”
Browns: “What the… (cough) I mean, er, How are you Carl?”
Carl: “I’m a little down about our QB situation and, well, let’s get right to the point. I was wondering..”
Browns: “We know what you want, and we aren’t interested”
Carl: “But what if…”
Browns: “No”
Carl: “What about…”
Browns: “No”
Carl: “LJ?”
Browns: “… NO”
Carl: “First round..”
Browns: “Nope”
(silence)
Herm (in the background): “Come on, know your role and do ya job!”
Carl: “Bottom line, what would it take to…”
Browns: “Not interested and please don’t call us about this again Carl”
Click
Carl: ” Man, that’s too bad, I was really hoping to get Derrick Anderson in a Chiefs uniform this season…”
Herm: “THAT’S OKAY!!”

Tyler Thigpen violates a skeleton
Yes fellow fans, this is our starting quarterback this Sunday.
Hopefully he keep as good as grasp on the game ball as he does on Uranus Mr. Skeleton.
Courtsey of Deadspin
Funny quote from the article
Regardless of the motivation, rejoice Chiefs fans: your skeleton-banging quarterback is here to resuscitate your offense. Whitlock must be pumped.

My sweet new customized Chiefs hat
So I was getting geared up for the home opener against the Raiders tomorrow and I was trying to figure out what I could that would be “fresh” for this year. During this thought process I remembered that I have a friend (or two) that work at this unnamed place that can customize hats for you, so I decided to give this a shot. I am very happy with the results and have decided to show this off a little bit. Here are some pictures (you can click on them to make them bigger).
What do you guys think of my new hat? If I were to give away something similar to this in contest would you be interested?

Excited for the Preseason Home Opener!
I don’t know about you guys, but I really excited to get back to Arrowhead for the first home game of the season, even though it is a preseason game. It has been a long layoff and I need my Arrowhead fix.
After my Jayhawks won the National Championship (Rock Chalk!) it has been pretty slow sports-wise for me… Sure I have got the Royals, who are doing fairly decent this year, but for me that just doesn’t compare to the high energy that College Basketball and especially Chiefs Football bring to the table.
Even though the Chiefs might not do too great this year I am still excited because game day is an experience… it’s not just “going to a game”. Got to get up at the butt crack of dawn, drive to Arrowhead, smell the BBQ in the air, put the BBQ in my mouth, and have a couple drinks. Then comes the game.
And yes I did say Chiefs might not do too great this year, but with that said I think we will surprise a lot of people. I don’t know about going to the playoffs or anything like that, but going .500 wouldn’t surprise me one bit. In fact anywhere between 5-11 to 9-7 wouldn’t surprise me and that’s what you get with a young team, you just don’t know for sure what will happen.
One of the cool things about having a young team is that (at least at first) they don’t know any better. They don’t know they are not supposed to have a chance to beat the Patriots; they just go out there and give it all they got and try to win. For that I applaud them and I will be there cheering them on in the sea of red! GO CHIEFS!

Madden NFL 09 is on the streets!
This may be a little off topic but since I am such a big gamer I had to throw this out there.
I am so excited to play Madden NFL 09. There have been several new features added to this game, including a “Madden IQ” system that helps adjust the AI to your current skill level for all phases of the game. A list of all the new features can be seen here if you are interested.
Let’s just say when I get off of work I am heading straight over to pick this game up. If you would like to play on Xbox Live just let me know and we can arrange it (as long as you don’t beat up on me too bad:) )
p.s. If you are one of those people that likes to import the NCAA rosters to Madden let me know and I can share my NCAA rosters with you if you don’t have them already.
I will leave you with a short teaser video.
HAPPY GAMING!
