Chiefs sign first-round pick Branden Albert
Well, this is one of the two signed from the first round. Now it appears the Chiefs will have all but Glenn Dorsey and seventh-round TE Michael Merritt in on time for camp. I’ve heard the word on Merritt is that he has an injury and Chiefs don’t want to sign him until they can get him on the field.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs have signed tackle Branden Albert, the second of the team’s two first-round draft picks, the team announced Thursday.
Financial details of the five-year agreement were not released.
The team appears far from an agreement with its other first-round pick, defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey. The team headed to camp Thursday.
The 6-foot-5, 316-pound Albert — the Chiefs’ 15th overall pick — started all 37 games he appeared in at Virginia.
Also unsigned is tight end Michael Merritt, a seventh-round pick out of Central Florida.
Now lets get that O-line working together, they need all the time they can get.

Why in the world is it taking SOOOO long to sign a 7th round pick?
James,
Mike Merritt has an injured leg and the Chiefs are going to wait until that’s healed to sign him, if at all.
Tell me what you're thinking...
