Game DayThread - Preseason Game 4: Chiefs vs Rams
As I said last week I have now started Game Day Threads here at kcchiefsfootball.com.
Today the Chiefs play the annual Governor’s Cup battle against the St. Louis Rams. This should be an awesome display of… wait… you say Trent Green is starting? Steven Jackson won’t play? Will LJ play? D Bo? …Well, it is Chiefs football so I am still excited about it.
It should be interesting getting to see what players will play their way onto the roster and which ones might play their way to going job hunting.
As always please post any comments pictures or whatever in the comment section below.
p.s. Don’t forget the game was pushed up to 6:00 to accomidate the TV coverage of the Demo-Crapic National Convention in Denver… ok, it might not be that bad, but I have never been.

The game last night was a blast even with the rain and delay’s (although it pushed us back to 2:00 a.m. before we got home!). I really hope Savage hasn’t lost his spot as a returner with these last two weeks performances. The out of bounds error last week vs. the Dolphins and the opening kickoff fumble this week hurt, but shouldn’t cost him the chance at the return job. He bounced back nicely after both set backs and I think that will bode well in Edwards mind. Sippio finally took a step in the right direction, but will it be too little too late? I hope not. Since he’s able to contribute on special teams also I’m hopeful he can make the team still, just not too optimistic. I know it was wet last night, but the fact that we only threw 12 passes all night long is slightly concerning. That formula won’t bring success in the regular season most weeks.

Man, 2:00 AM getting home… Did you make it into work on time? lol…
But yes, I agree that the game was a blast even though it rained A LOT. Right before the game was suppose to start my friend almost got taken out by a flying trash can in that CRAZY wind/hail storm.
As far as Savage goes I’m not sure. The mistake last week against the Dolphins was excusable (he’s a udfa trying to hard to make the team) IMO but the fumble on the opening kick off was not. Sams looked good this week but will that be every week? And yes, Savage looked good the rest of the game which helps make up for his initial mistake.
Sippio made a great catch but I do think it will be too little too late. I don’t know if I can see him making the team. If you look at the preseason as a whole Maurice Price just outplayed him. We’ll find out soon enough though.

Oh yeah, I made it to work bright and early this morning and still going strong! LOL Just as Sippio’s performance might have been too little too late, the same might be said for Sams. He hasn’t done a ton so far in the preseason and now I’ve heard that he possibly hurt himself last night too??? Not sure if that can be verified anywhere but his recent and past injuries could be the difference in still keeping Savage. To be perfectly honest I see no reason for us to keep Darling on the team from what he’s showed in games so far. He still hasn’t caught a pass in a game, has he? At this point I’d rather see Sippio than Darling make it. At least he’s proven he can catch outside of practice. I understand it’s wishful thinking, but a guy that caught only 20 passes in the past 4 seasons with Baltimore? Not sure why he’s our #2. Not like they have a stellar WR’ing core that were begging for the ball there. Oh well, either way we’ll know in the next 24 hours, enjoy your long weekend!
