- Branden Albert has a dislocated elbow and was wearing a brace today. But will the rookie offensive tackle play Sunday against Carolina?
Herm Edwards said today that Albert’s availablility was in question.
So Red Zone is reporting that our Phat Albert has a dislocated elbow:
Herm Edwards said today that Albert’s availablility was in question.
Also in the comments section someone said that this is the same injury that Ryan Sims had his rookie year that put him on IR. Is this true? Does anyone have any more information on this?
Well, although Herbie Taylor seems to be doing a very nice job filling in, I hope Albert has a speedy recovery.

I did some research on dislocated elbows in football. Eagles cornerback Lito Sheppard had a dislocated elbow in the Jan 2007 playoffs and missed one game. University of California RB Jahvid Best dislocated his this week and is expected to miss one game also. Michigan tackle (obviously same as Albert) dislocated his earlier this month and was expected to be available after their Bye week. Sounds like commonly it’s a 1-2 week healing process. The Bronco’s RB Ryan Torain has a dislocated elbow that is keeping him out for 3 months, but that was compounded by a small fracture and some minor ligament damage. As long as Albert doesn’t have anything to that extreme I would expect him back after our Bye week against the Titans. We could definitely use him agains Haynesworth!
Nice work Ryan. As long as that holds true having him back for the Titans game would be great. The Titans D-line is no joke.
