Chiefs Trade Tony Gonzalez to the Falcons

So the Chiefs really have traded Tony Gonzalez…
The Chiefs have agreed to trade the perennial Pro Bowl tight end to the Atlanta Falcons for a second-round pick in the 2010 draft, FOXSports.com has learned.
(Sigh…)
Gonzalez has already spoken to both the Chiefs and Falcons about the deal, according to sources.
So for the best TE ever the Chiefs get a second round pick NEXT year(2010).
So much for Clark Hunt saying the Chiefs didn’t want to trade Gonzalez.
Here is what Clark Hunt had to say today:
“On behalf of my family and the Chiefs, I want to thank Tony for his time in Kansas City,” Chiefs Chairman Clark Hunt said. “Over the last 12 seasons, Tony has been one of the finest players in Chiefs history, and he will always be remembered as a member of the Chiefs. His play on the field speaks for itself – he holds almost every major NFL record for tight ends, and he is arguably the best to ever play his position. We wish him the best in Atlanta.”
And here is what Scott Pioli had to say:
“From an organizational as well as personal standpoint there are mixed emotions. I have the highest personal and professional respect for Tony and consider him to be a future Pro Football Hall of Famer.”
Honestly I understand this move, the Chiefs got a second round pick for a player that only has a few years left… but why do I still feel TICKED? Also I think it would have been a lot better if they got a second round pick THIS year because bottom line for this season the Chiefs get nothing for Gonzo…
Well… I wish you all the best Tony, you will always be a Chiefs to me and one of my all time favorites.

I can’t believe KC Chiefs traded Tony. He has been the only consistent players for years and they let him go. I am sure that I am many fans do not know or understand all the ends and outs, but if KC has another year like last year, then they deserve it. I do wish all the best to Tony and the Atlanta Falcons may just become my new favorite teams.
what are the chiefs thinking, you don’t give up the best player on tour team, even if he only has a few years left to play.who will take the defensive pressure off of bowe now
I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT MR.PIOLI ONLY GOT A SECOND ROUND PICK NEXT YEAR,THAT REALLY HELPS THIS YEAR SCOTT(WRONG).WHO’S NEXT TO BE TRADED MRS. LAMAR HUNT. I HOPE TONY AND THE FALCONS GO TO THE SUPERBOWL AND WIN.COME ON MR.PIOLI WE TRADED OUR BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER LAST YEAR,NOW WE TRADE OUR BEST OFFENSIVE PLAYER,YOU SAW HOW WELL WE DID LAST YEAR.ANYWAY GOOD LUCK TONY,YOU’LL ALWAYS BE A CHIEF.
MR. PIOLI YOU ARE AN IDIOT. GETTING RID OF TONY G. WAS JUST PLAIN STUPID,DUMB,RETARTED,IGNORANT,STUPID,DUMB AND MOST OF ALL IDIOTIC. YOUR ARE EITHER ON DRUGS OR RELATAED TO CARL P.
Gonzalez wanted to be traded so they traded him. He wants to win a championship before he retires and that wont happen with the chiefs.(probly wont happen with the falcons either). Chiefs might be better with Tony but he wont make or break the team. we had him last year and only won two games.
Tell me what you're thinking...
