Phone conversation between Chiefs and Browns
Carl Peterson picks up phone to call Cleveland Brown Headquarters:
ring… ring… ring…
Browns: “Hello?”
Carl: “Hello, this is Carl Peterson VP/CEO/President/Lord of the Kansas City Chiefs”
Browns: “What the… (cough) I mean, er, How are you Carl?”
Carl: “I’m a little down about our QB situation and, well, let’s get right to the point. I was wondering..”
Browns: “We know what you want, and we aren’t interested”
Carl: “But what if…”
Browns: “No”
Carl: “What about…”
Browns: “No”
Carl: “LJ?”
Browns: “… NO”
Carl: “First round..”
Browns: “Nope”
(silence)
Herm (in the background): “Come on, know your role and do ya job!”
Carl: “Bottom line, what would it take to…”
Browns: “Not interested and please don’t call us about this again Carl”
Click
Carl: ” Man, that’s too bad, I was really hoping to get Derrick Anderson in a Chiefs uniform this season…”
Herm: “THAT’S OKAY!!”

Chiefs Interested in Brady Quinn?
It appears the Kansas City Chiefs are interested in Cleveland QB Brady Quinn.
According to Pro Football Weekly:
- Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the Kansas City Chiefs called the Browns this week to inquire about the availability of quarterback Brady Quinn.
The Browns declined to discuss the possibility.
The move suggests to us that the Chiefs could be using their very high 2009 first-round pick on whoever emerges as the top quarterback in the draft.
I think that would be stupid for the Browns to even consider this move. I wondered if Derrick Anderson would be a one hit wonder, and judging by his play from this year he was.
I would love for the Chiefs to get Quinn at this point, but I just don’t see this happening for many reasons.
