Chiefs Cut Eight Players Including T Damion McIntosh
WIth the big cut day looming the Chiefs released eight players on Friday, including former starting RT Damion McIntosh.
Here are the list of players with some of my thoughts following.
Offense
- T Damion McIntosh - Is anyone really that surprised? I’m not.
- T Herb Taylor - I am honestly more surprised about this cut than McIntosh. Just shows that Haley and Pioli only care about what you can do for me, not what you have done.
- G Tavares Washington - Think he was injured in camp but I never really heard his name mentioned much in reports from River Falls.
- C Eric Ghiaciuc - Former starting center for the Bengals couldn’t beat out Rudy Niswanger who hasn’t been all that impressive himself. Enough said.
- FB Jed Collins - I barely heard this guys name called this preseason. I think we all knew Mike Cox was the guy.
Defense
- CB Travis Daniels - Signed during the offseason and didn’t do enough to stand out.
- CB Londen Fryar - Didn’t do enough in camp to make the team. Chiefs are deep at CB though so this was already an uphill battle.
- ILB Corey Smith - Not a surprise here. Chiefs have a lot of decisions to make at LB and he obviously was not a good fit and didn’t do enough to make the cut..
So now that is 8 players cut with 14 more to go. Who do you think is next?

As I said before none of these roster cuts really surprised me too much. I know a lot of you might be disappointed about Bobby Sip-Sip-Sip-E-O, but even after his great TD catch last game it was obviously too little too late.
So we are keeping both Sams and Savage? Interesting…

Chiefs Begin Roster Cuts
Later tonight all cuts will be final and so far here is who has been cut [WPI]:

I am not really shocked by any of these. I am a little surprised by the Michael Allan cut which means we are keeping Chan’s boy, J.P. Foschi, but I am okay with that. As it got later into the preseason Foschi looked better while blocking but his pass catching never impressed me, but that’s fine because that is why we have T.G. and Cottom.

Ahhhhhhh!!! Don’t Cut Me!!! 2008 Chiefs Roster Projections
Since final cuts are coming at the end of the week I thought I would make some predictions on who will make the team and who will get axed. Nothing personal guys, just making some guesses.
NOTE: These are picks were made before St. Louis games so I am reserving the right to change my mind. 
I might do one of these after the game too, we’ll see.
OFFENSE
Quarterback (3): Brodie Croyle, Tyler Thigpen and Damon Huard. (This one is a no brainer)
Running Back (4): Larry Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Kolby Smith, Dantrell Savage RB/KR
Fullback (1): Mike Cox
Wide Receiver (5): Dwayne Bowe, Will Franklin, Devard Darling, Maurice Price, Jeff Webb

Chiefs make cuts to get ready for Training Camp
OG L.J. Anderson, FB Steven Jackson and CB Jason Horton appeared to have been cut by the Kansas City Chiefs. This is judging by the fact that they are no longer listed on the Chiefs Roster on kcchiefs.com.
That means there are 82 on the roster and two more players will be cut by Thursday.
